Gi Se-do, chairman of Wibon Group, was inaugurated as the 10th president of the Seoul National University ACPMP (Advanced Construction Management Program) alumni association on the 10th.
The inauguration ceremony held at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul, was attended by about 160 members and guests, including Mun Joo-hyun, honorary president of the Seoul National University ACPMP alumni association (chairman of MDM Group), Kim Young-o, dean of the College of Engineering at Seoul National University, Lee Chung-jae, head of the Korea Construction Industry Research Institute, Park Mun-seo, professor at Seoul National University, Kim Woo-young, professor at Seoul National University, Park Young-gwang, senior vice president, and Jo Young-hoon, senior vice president.
In his inaugural speech, the new chairman said, "Although there is uncertainty across the economy, such crises can become new opportunities," adding that he would strengthen the network through alumni exchanges and expand industry-academia cooperation and social contributions to address social issues related to the construction industry.
He also noted, "I will work hard to cultivate the capabilities of construction managers and global leadership to lead the times and build a broad network."
Chairman Gi has built construction affiliates, starting with Doyang Corporation, a civil engineering company founded in 1994, including comprehensive construction company Wibon Construction, specialized construction company Doyang Corporation, and real estate development company Wibon. In addition, he established Wibon Motors and Wibon Automotive, official dealers of Audi and Jaguar Land Rover, expanding his business into the imported car distribution sector. In 2021, he received the Prime Minister's commendation for contributions to national vocational competence development.
