Gyeryong Construction announced on the 5th that it has obtained a new technology for soft ground improvement in collaboration with Fileworks, DL Construction, and Hanwha Construction.

This new technology is described as "a soft ground improvement method that forms taper-shaped improvement bodies in the ground using horizontal and vertical agitation devices." This method has developed a three-dimensional agitation device that combines agitation wings and continuous screws, allowing for precise construction that meets design conditions and uniform strength in ground improvement.

Applying this technology will enhance the structural stability of the ground and secure the stability of structures by suppressing simultaneous subsidence of surrounding ground. It is also expected to reduce construction time and costs. Furthermore, the use of small equipment, such as excavators, which have excellent mobility, lowers the risk of safety accidents due to equipment tipping compared to existing pile methods, making it easier to apply on-site. It is also possible to conduct low-noise and low-vibration construction.

A representative from Gyeryong Construction noted that this new technology, which ensures superior structural stability, completeness, and cost-effectiveness compared to existing methods, is gradually expanding in soft ground construction projects. They added, "Following the 2017 Pohang earthquake, it has emerged as one of the measures to reduce ground liquefaction damage and can be utilized for national disaster prevention purposes."
