SAMPYO Cement announced on the 4th that it held a technical briefing to demonstrate the excellence of its high-performance eco-friendly cement "BLUEMENT." BLUEMENT is a high-performance eco-friendly product line for which SAMPYO Cement applied for trademark rights in June of last year.

Among this product line, BLUEMENT ECO SPEED is characterized by securing an initial compressive strength greater than that of the existing type 1 Portland cement (OPC). It can achieve a demolding strength of more than 5 MPa (megapascals) just one day after the concrete is poured. One MPa indicates the strength to withstand a load of 10 kg per square centimeter of concrete. A higher value signifies the ability to bear heavier weights.

In particular, BLUEMENT ECO SPEED excels in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. By recycling blast furnace slag as the main raw material instead of limestone, which is a primary raw material and natural resource of cement with high carbon emissions, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 28%. In addition, it has obtained Korea Industrial Standards (KS) certification, ensuring its stability.

Through this demonstration, SAMPYO Cement confirmed the workability of this product. It measured not only the higher strength manifested at the early age but also the ease of working with the unset concrete.

Lee Won-jin, CEO of SAMPYO Cement, said, "SAMPYO Cement will realize carbon-neutral construction in partnership with customers through continuous technological development and challenges."
