The construction project management (PM) company HanmiGlobal and the social welfare corporation 'Warm Journey' announced that they have achieved the 100th overseas welfare support project for low-income disabled families in Hai Duong Province, Vietnam, on the 23rd.

The protagonist of this 100th project is Bui Van Tuan, a 50-year-old man from Vietnam. Tuan has intellectual and mobility disabilities and has been living in an uncomfortable environment due to the narrow and dark house with an aging roof, which leaks heavily during the rainy season, and the exterior walls, which are filled with mold and cracks.

HanmiGlobal and Warm Journey conducted customized renovations, including replacing the roof and windows and creating new kitchen and bathroom spaces in Tuan's house. Tuan said, "The newly renovated house has no mold and has become bright with light coming in through the large windows," adding, "I'm really happy that it has changed into a space where disabled people can move comfortably."

Since 2010, HanmiGlobal and Warm Journey have been consistently carrying out welfare support projects to improve the housing and living environments for disabled people in domestic facilities and homes. Since 2013, they have expanded their activities overseas, improving the living environments for disabled welfare facilities and families in Nepal, the Philippines, and Vietnam, as well as homes for Ethiopian and Turkish veterans who participated in the Korean War.

Kim Jong-hoon, the chairman of Warm Journey (and chairman of HanmiGlobal), noted, "I feel very rewarded to have achieved the 100th overseas welfare support project before we knew it," and added, "We will continue to work to provide convenience in daily life and improve the quality of life for disabled individuals in difficult situations, both domestically and overseas."

Established in 2010 under the slogan of creating "a warm world without disabilities," Warm Journey is a pure nonprofit organization that engages in various fields, including housing and living environment improvement projects for disabled individuals, support for advanced assistive devices, job creation, volunteer support, and North Korean defector support projects.

Together with PM company HanmiGlobal, Warm Journey has consistently carried out welfare support projects targeting disabled welfare facilities and families, improving a total of 1,433 spaces domestically and 100 overseas over the past 15 years. Currently, they are expanding their projects in collaboration with Seoul City, POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation, and Woomi Hope Foundation. They are also conducting international development cooperation projects to improve the living environments for low-income disabled families and homes of Korean War veterans.
