The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 15th that it will begin the V-World phase 3 enhancement services starting on the 16th.

V-World is a platform that provides spatial information held by the government, supporting public and private sectors to easily create spatial information-based applications. This service facilitates easier utilization of spatial information through customized map creation, expanded 3D analysis, and simulation functions.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been carrying out the V-World enhancement project since 2023. After completing the 2023 (phase 1) and 2024 (phase 2) projects, it will launch the phase 3 services this year.

This phase 3 enhancement project significantly strengthened accessibility and usability, allowing general users to easily utilize spatial information. A new feature, 'my map service,' was established to enable users to create their own unique maps. Users can visualize desired information such as restaurants, tourist attractions, and travel routes on the V-World map to generate and manage personalized maps.

Through this enhancement project, V-World newly added useful 3D analysis and simulation functions for real life, such as sunlight right analysis and drone simulation. In the case of 3D analysis, users can visually examine the impact of building heights and locations on sunlight rights, and can review in advance the harmonious landscape preservation with cultural heritage when constructing or renovating buildings near cultural properties.

Simulation functions for drone and vehicle mock driving were also included. Users can preview the residential environment of neighborhoods they are interested in and check the drone flight environment in advance through mock driving.

Additionally, an editing function that allows users to enlarge, reduce, and rotate 3D buildings has been added, improving the effective use of 3D analysis and simulation in the basic design of urban planning and architectural planning.

Park Geon-su, director of land information policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, noted, 'With the launch of the V-World phase 3 enhancement services, more citizens will be able to access and utilize spatial information more easily and quickly,' and added, 'This will make it possible to experience the digital twin territory more closely.'
