The Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 14th that it has begun inspecting the early execution status of wages and construction payments (materials and equipment) at construction sites.
On the same day, SH Corporation President Hwang Sang-ha visited the construction site of the 'Magok public-type knowledge industry center and construction-type challenge housing complex development project' and inspected the status of wage payments to workers and payments to subcontractors.
SH Corporation is undertaking the 'Magok public-type knowledge industry center and construction-type challenge housing complex development project' to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution based on the digital industry and to contribute to the realization of residential welfare. They are constructing integrated facilities including job-linked housing for young entrepreneurs, a public-type knowledge industry center, and dormitories within the Magok Industrial Complex.
President Hwang urged those at the site to make efforts to pay construction funds ahead of the deadline, in order to ensure payments are made before the Lunar New Year holiday. He also focused on checking the appropriate use of the payment verification system (subcontractor guardian), the status of writing labor contracts, and construction equipment rental agreements.
The site implements a direct construction system and an appropriate wage system, and SH Corporation directly pays construction workers' wages and subcontractor payments. It has also reduced the payment processing time to ensure workers' wages are paid within the second week of each month.
President Hwang examined various smart safety management systems, including a smart construction project management platform, artificial intelligence smart safety closed-circuit television (CCTV), and wearable cameras that are in operation on the site.
He also requested that special checks be conducted on worker convenience facilities in preparation for the winter season, and urged efforts to create a safe working environment and rest areas. A snack truck was operated to provide coffee and snacks for construction workers.
President Hwang stated, "We will establish an emergency response system to quickly address any emergencies that arise during the Lunar New Year holiday period," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create an environment where workers can work safely without worry through early wage execution and other measures."
