Value-up platform company YIDO announced on the 6th that it will fully promote the urban redevelopment project in the Suyoungguyek area of Jung-gu, Seoul.
The Suyoungguyek area is a densely populated small tool market located between Euljiro 3-ga Station on subway lines 2 and 3 and Cheonggyecheon. Due to aging buildings, it was designated as a redevelopment maintenance area in 2010. In October of last year, the integrated review for maintenance projects by the Seoul city government was approved.
YIDO is responsible for the project and will build the office building 'ONE X' on the site, featuring a total floor area of approximately 172,000 square meters and ranging from 7 underground floors to 33 above-ground floors. ONE X will be the largest and tallest standalone office building in the northern part of Seoul.
This project centers on the key value of 'office peacocking,' which reflects the global trend shifting from 'work from home' to 'back to office,' leading to diverse and extravagant office trends. It will feature premium workspaces, an immersive art space called Lightroom, specialized facilities, and new programs like a private membership club.
The design and planning have been entrusted to globally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, famous for iconic projects such as the World Trade Center in New York, the Baccarat Residence in Dubai, and the Jewish Museum in Berlin. Libeskind drew inspiration from traditional Korean patterns and landscapes, implementing the concept of 'Urban Forest' to harmoniously integrate urban architecture with nature in 'ONE X.'
The green space directly connected to Cheonggyecheon will feature lush gardens, providing a natural retreat in the central business district (CBD) of Seoul. Furthermore, the project is set to obtain the highest level of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, which is a global green building certification, as well as the WELL certification, which evaluates elements that can improve the health and well-being of employees within the building and its spaces.
