This revision proposal contains completion measures for projects related to the urban regeneration project in the Sewoon Sangga area, which has been underway since 2015 and is mostly nearing completion.

The urban regeneration project in the Sewoon Sangga area was pursued through a total of 10 projects, including 7 catalyst projects, 2 municipal projects, and 1 linked project, all of which have been completed by this year. Major regeneration projects include the establishment of the "Sewoon Makers Cube" to support youth entrepreneurship and enhance urban manufacturing infrastructure, the creation of community revitalization hubs utilizing idle spaces within the Sewoon Sangga area, and public space development projects such as pedestrian bridges.

As part of a tenant relocation plan for the urban industrial ecosystem preservation in the Sewoon area, a cooperative knowledge industry center was established in the vicinity of Sanrim-dong 82-3 together with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

The area designated for urban regeneration in the Sewoon Sangga vicinity underwent changes during the project implementation process, leading to modifications in related plans such as the "2030 Urban Regeneration Strategy Plan" and the "Sewoon Reconstruction Promotion Plan."

The area in question corresponds to the Sewoon Reconstruction Promotion Plan, which was revised in June, making it necessary to maintain urban planning integrity. The revision includes changes such as the dismantling of certain sections of the pedestrian route in the Sewoon Sangga area and improvements to ground-level walking environments.

The pedestrian route in the Sewoon Sangga area is a bridge and pedestrian walkway installed over approximately 1 kilometer, stretching from Sewoon Sangga to Cheonggye, Daelim Sangga, Sampung Sangga, PJ Hotel, Inhyeon, and Jinyang Sangga. It was initiated as one of the urban regeneration projects during the administration of former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon in 2016 and was fully opened in 2022.

The city plans to remove the facilities of the steel-structured pedestrian bridge section installed over approximately 250 meters on both sides of Sampung Sangga and PJ Hotel.

Earlier, since September, the city had gathered various opinions through public hearings, discussions with relevant organizations, and listening to the City Council, preparing this revision proposal.
