The Janganpyeong used car trading center, the country's first used car market, will be transformed into a complex commercial facility that includes a 36-story officetel.
On the 24th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held a meeting of the Architectural Committee and noted on the 25th that the construction review proposal for the urban redevelopment project of the Janganpyeong used car trading center has been approved.
The review proposal includes plans to build 527 officetel units, which have 8 underground floors and a maximum of 36 above-ground floors, along with automobile-related facilities, public contribution facilities, retail spaces, and community living facilities in the vicinity of 234 Yongdap-dong, Seongdong-gu, where the Janganpyeong used car trading center is located.
The Architectural Committee explained, "We aimed to minimize the sense of disconnection caused by the building through a design that conveys openness and improve the urban landscape through harmonious facade designs of both low and high-rise sections." Additionally, plans are in place to create an ecological forest, a grass yard, and water features in a location that is easily accessible from the roadside.
Han Byeong-yong, head of the Housing Division of Seoul, said, "We will work to enhance the urban landscape through harmonious architectural design that blends with the surrounding environment and create open spaces that citizens can enjoy."
