Ido announced on the 23rd that it has signed a contract for basic and detailed design and permitting services for a biogas project utilizing 'Blue' and organic waste in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

This project involves producing biogas from 300 tons (t) of organic waste per day, including organic sludge and sewage sludge, through an anaerobic digestion process. Specifically, the biogas generated during the treatment of organic sludge and sewage sludge will be used to dry solids for use as a soil conditioner. Additionally, all wastewater will be reused.

Ido plans to expand its full-scale biogas business areas, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and post-operation management, based on this contract.

Earlier, in August, Ido signed a contract for basic design and permitting services for a biogas project utilizing organic waste with Honam Compost Agricultural Corporation. The project modernizes an establishment that processes 130 tons of organic waste per day and generates electricity from the methane gas produced during the processing.

Ido is currently operating a value chain for industrial waste with a scale of 14,000 tons per day nationwide, including Jeju, encompassing waste collection, transportation, intermediate treatment, recycling, incineration, and landfilling. The company has also entered the renewable energy sector through solar and wind power.
