The revitalization plan for the Hannam 3 redevelopment district (hereinafter referred to as the Hannam 3 district) will be changed. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has decided not to establish a school in the area designated for an elementary school within the Hannam 3 district and has amended the revitalization district plan to convert the school site into a public space.
The Hannam 3 district is located on the outskirts of Hannam-dong, at 686 Hannam-dong, covering an area of 386,395.5 square meters, with a total floor area of 1,048,998.52 square meters. The land use zones include a mix of first to third class general residential areas and quasi-residential areas, with a building coverage ratio of 42.09% and a floor area ratio of 232.47%. It is situated between Hannam-dong and Bogwang-dong.
On the 23rd, a source from the redevelopment industry said, "Today, it was decided to change the revitalization plan through the deliberation and resolution of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's revitalization committee." It is reported that the reason for changing the revitalization plan is because the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to use the site originally designated for establishing an elementary school for rental housing and other purposes.
A representative of the Seoul Metropolitan Government stated, "For now, we will set it aside as contributed acceptance public land and then proceed with the investment and review for school establishment by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education."
In line with the changes to the revitalization plan, the association must reorganize the plans, including recalculating member contributions after holding a public hearing with residents. A source from the redevelopment industry noted, "It is currently unknown how much longer the plans will be delayed."
The Hannam 3 district was designated as a new town district in November 2003 and received approval for its management and disposal plan in June 2023.
