Hanwha's construction division announced on the 20th that it has implemented a 'Construction Workforce Training and Partner Recruitment Support' program in collaboration with the Eastern Technical Training Institute in Seoul.
In July, Hanwha's construction division planned a construction workforce training program aimed at thriving with local communities and partners as part of its sustainable management efforts and signed a business agreement with the Eastern Technical Training Institute in Seoul.
Hanwha's construction division has established 'Housing Environment Improvement Repair Activities' and 'Partner Excellent Talent Recruitment Programs' for job seekers in the construction sector in Seoul, in addition to the regular courses at the Training Institute.
The 60 selected trainees are currently enrolled in the 'Modern Architecture Construction' and 'Building Repair' courses (daytime) at the Eastern Technical Training Institute. Hanwha's construction division conducted housing environment improvement repair activities with the trainees for two days starting from the 10th of this month.
Based on the knowledge and skills related to construction acquired in their courses, the trainees undertook tasks such as wallpapering, floor covering and window replacement, and insulation work, assisting vulnerable households in Seoul. The materials needed for the housing repairs were provided by Hanwha's construction division.
Jang Il-gyeong, a trainee in modern architecture construction, noted, 'While directly transforming the aging space using the wallpapering and insulation techniques learned in class, I felt a great sense of pride.' They added, 'It was rewarding to contribute to a safe winter for the community beyond just practical training.'
Hanwha's construction division held a recruitment briefing in collaboration with partners on the 19th. The briefing provided job opportunities for the trainees while offering partners a chance to secure excellent talents. Participating in the briefing were major partners of Hanwha's construction division, including Sunjin Window and Cheongun Machinery, which introduced their companies and shared their recruitment plans.
Hanwha's construction division invited alumni who completed the same program at the Eastern Technical Training Institute in Seoul to conduct a special lecture. Through a 'Networking Brunch' session with practical professionals, the trainees were encouraged to explore various employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Jeon Chang-soo, head of the human resources support office at Hanwha's construction division, stated, 'I hope this program becomes a positive example of contributing to the development of local communities and the construction industry through collaboration between corporations and educational institutions.' He added, 'We will continue to explore various ways to provide practical assistance to the trainees, including interactions with professionals.'
The recruitment linkage with partners will be conducted after the regular training program concludes, and full-fledged graduates begin in February next year. Hanwha's construction division plans to provide communication channels for professionals so that trainees can inquire about matters related to employment and studies.
