Lee Han-jun, president of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), visited rental housing in the Mapo District of Seoul on the 19th to assess preparations against cold waves and heavy snowfall.

On this day, Lee held a winter safety policy meeting focused on the metropolitan area and Gangwon Province. Lee closely examined preventive measures and response directions, particularly regarding safety measures for LH's rental housing in preparation for the winter, due to concerns over sudden cold waves and heavy snowfall caused by climate change.

At the meeting, Lee said, “Everyone should prepare responsibly to prevent safety accidents during the winter in rental housing and construction sites,” adding, “Above all, we will ensure that unexpected cold waves and heavy snowfall do not pose safety issues for residents.”

LH will equip facilities to reduce pipe freezing, such as insulation materials, to prevent accidents, and will operate a 24-hour emergency response team for quick accident response. For vulnerable households, including the elderly, the situation will be continuously monitored, and special heating performance inspections will be conducted for semi-basement households.
