Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) said on the 13th it has finished repairs from a freight train derailment in the yard at Nakdonggang Station and will resume service on the Gyeongjeon Line.
KORAIL said it completed repairs at about 9:45 a.m. on the 13th after a derailment involving one freight car in the yard at Nakdonggang Station on the Gyeongjeon Line occurred at around 8:30 p.m. the day before. There were no reported injuries from the derailment.
With repairs complete, 10 trains running between Busan/ Bujeon and Mokpo/ Suncheon will operate starting with the first trains on the 14th. However, because full restoration is not yet finished, both directions will alternate using the up-bound track in the affected section. Delays may occur as a result.
A KORAIL official said, "Please check service status via the KORAIL+ app or the website (www.letskorail.com), or through the Railroad Customer Center (1588-7788, 1544-7788)."
