Political commentator Jin Jung-kwon, a professor at Tongyang University, wrote on the 13th on Facebook, "President Lee Jae-myung seems to have completely lost touch with reality," adding, "About six months before martial law, I wrote that Yoon Suk-yeol had left reality and confined himself to his own virtual world, and I get a similar ominous feeling now."
Professor Jin said, "(On X, the president) not long ago, even as home prices were soaring, said 'prepare for a home price crash,' and now, even as his approval rating hits bottom, is talking about a 'structural majority.'" He added, "There are still almost four years left in the term, and if the president's mental world is in that state, regardless of liking or disliking him, as one of the people I seriously have to worry."
Professor Jin said, "(The president) must, while in office, use presidential authority to secure the unconditional cancellation of the prosecution." He said, "But there's no reason for Jung Chung-rae to cooperate with that," adding, "So, benchmarking Yoon Suk-yeol, who forcibly installed Kim Gi-hyeon, he forcibly made Kim Min-seok the party leader."
He went on, "In this Cabinet reshuffle, everything else is scraps; the key is Kim Seung-won." He added, "If you seat there again someone like Jung Sung-ho—timid and quick-witted—he'll try to wash his hands of it and run, so they seated Kim Seung-won, thick-skinned and empty-headed."
Aiming at the president, he said, "Give up canceling the prosecution, give up a re-election amendment, and stop stoking division with out-of-season, stale talk about quashing insurrection and the like." He continued, "Like Odysseus tying himself down, put a cast on your fingers so you don't fall for the temptations of social media, stop the embarrassing self-heroization and showy micromanaging, and simply work humbly, honestly, and diligently, then retire amid the people's love—that's the right answer."
