Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon said on the 10th that Han filed a complaint accusing Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok of spreading false information.
In the afternoon during a government question session at the National Assembly, Han told reporters, "Didn't (leader Kim) lie that I cooperated with prosecutors and received materials from them?" and said, "I filed a complaint against leader Kim with the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in my name."
Earlier, on the morning of the 9th at a supreme council meeting, Democratic Party leader Kim Min-seok said, "I judge that the claims Han is currently raising could not occur without a collaborator inside the prosecution," and noted, "I thought we should thoroughly verify the facts and, if there was a leaker, move to the stage of taking legal action against everyone involved."
On whether there was a leak of the indictment plan regarding the Democratic Party's allegation that Ministry of Justice nominee Kim Seung-won engaged in a "Genencell solicitation," Han also said, "I have not received materials from the prosecution," adding, "What matters now is whether this disclosure serves the public interest or not."
Han continued, "The question is whether there is a public interest in requiring national vetting of whether someone involved in an 'older brother poison-lobby' becomes Minister of Justice." Han added, "I will risk my life to protect the whistleblower," and said, "If this is a leak of investigative materials, the burden of proof is on you (the Democratic Party)."
Han also called on the president to withdraw the nomination of Kim. Han said, "Since Lee Jae-myung returned today, I will say one thing," adding, "Withdraw Kim Seung-won's (nomination)." Han added, "After today, the president is also an accomplice."
