The Ministry of National Defense said on the 9th that Minister Ahn Gyu-baek will visit from the 9th to the 11th to attend the contract signing ceremony for the export of the Chunmu multiple launch rocket system to Croatia.
On the 10th (local time), Minister Ahn will meet with Croatia Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and then attend the Chunmu contract signing ceremony.
With this, Croatia became the fourth country to adopt Chunmu, following Poland, Estonia and Norway. This is the first time Croatia has introduced Korean-made weapons systems.
Chunmu is a multiple launch rocket system with a maximum range of 80 km that can fire high-explosive guided missiles and cluster guided missiles. It is considered a key means of counter-battery warfare to respond to North Korea's multiple rocket launchers and long-range artillery in the event of a contingency on the Korean Peninsula.
During this visit, Minister Ahn will also sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on defense cooperation. The aim is to provide institutional support for bilateral defense and defense industry cooperation. The two sides also plan to discuss strategic cooperation measures for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.
