President Lee Jae-myung departed through Seoul Air Base on the 6th for a state visit to France. Lee received an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to serve as co-chair of the international film and video summit, the "Lumière Summit."
On the 7th (local time), Lee will attend the Lumière Summit in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, as co-chair with President Macron.
From the 8th for two days, he will carry out the full-fledged state visit schedule in Paris. After the official welcome ceremony, Lee will have a one-on-one luncheon with President Macron at the Élysée Palace. After that, an expanded summit of the two countries' delegations will be held. He will also attend a business roundtable with about 20 corporations from both countries, followed by a state banquet hosted by President Macron at the Élysée.
On the final day, the 9th, meetings are scheduled with French National Assembly President Brune Poirson and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General Mathias Cormann. He will also hold a luncheon meeting with local Korean residents.
Wi Sung-lac, director of the Office of National Security, said at a briefing on the 4th, "This visit will solidify the global strategic partnership with France and add new momentum to the expansion of European diplomacy," and "We will expand cooperation in advanced technology, invigorate exchanges in youth and science and technology, and at the same time broaden the foundation for K-content to enter the European market."
