Democratic Party of Korea leaders, including leader Kim Min-seok, will visit Naepo New Town in Hongseong County, where the South Chungcheong Provincial Government is located, on the 4th to hold a supreme council meeting and a budget-policy council.
According to the political community on the 3rd, the Democratic Party of Korea plans to visit the main building of the South Chungcheong Provincial Government in Naepo New Town, Hongseong County, on the 4th to hold a supreme council meeting and a budget-policy council.
The supreme council meeting that day will be attended by Democratic Party lawmakers from South Chungcheong, as well as all district heads of the provincial party. Park Soo-hyun, the South Chungcheong governor, is also expected to join. Park will brief the Democratic Party leadership on pending projects in the South Chungcheong region at the following budget-policy council.
The schedule will proceed as a tight run with the supreme council meeting and the budget-policy council set back to back. The Democratic Party leadership and the South Chungcheong district heads are said to have arranged to eat lunch from lunchboxes without moving elsewhere.
The Kim Min-seok leadership is touring the country under a plan to hold supreme council meetings on the ground, not in the National Assembly, at least twice a week. Starting in Busan on Aug. 19, they visited Gangneung on the 21st, Andong on the 26th, and Incheon on the 28th. They visited Sejong on the 2nd of this month.
Kim's visit to Naepo New Town in Hongseong is also seen as linked to the public institution transfer being pushed by the Lee Jae-myung administration. Prime Minister Han Seong-sook is expected to unveil plans for transferring public institutions to the provinces and directions for reform as part of a national balanced development strategy that day. Naepo New Town in Hongseong is also being discussed as a candidate site for additional public institution transfers.
