The government said on the 1st that it will develop an AI agent so that all citizens can use artificial intelligence (AI) services like ChatGPT without expense concerns.
That day, the government held a Cabinet meeting and approved the "2027 budget proposal" containing these details. The government plans to spend 250 billion won to create an AI agent that everyone can use. It plans to include features that book, in a customized way, resident registration issuance, KTX tickets, and, when planning travel, transportation and lodging. The fee will be free.
The free sanitary pad program, currently a pilot in 12 regions, will be expanded nationwide. The free sanitary pad program installs sanitary-pad-only dispensers in the form of vending machines at community centers and libraries, with the key point being that anyone can take sanitary pads when needed. The government plans to invest 22.8 billion won in this program.
By spending 1.5005 trillion won, 90 "national life-convenience complex centers" will be built that cluster cultural facilities, libraries, senior leisure facilities, and shared offices. In addition, to offer national heritage sites as places of rest for the public, tree tents and cushion chairs will be installed at historic sites such as Hyeonchungsa in Asan, South Chungcheong, Chilbaek Uichong in Geumsan, and Manin Uichong in North Jeolla.
The 849-kilometer long-distance forest trail "East-West Trail," which runs from Taean County, South Chungcheong, to Uljin County, North Gyeongsang, will be fully opened. Currently, only a 244-kilometer section is in pilot operation. For safe walking trips, the plan is to build shelters and rest areas and install signposts along the entire route.
In addition, to enable outdoor exercise in all four seasons, 26.1 billion won will be spent to install shade canopies at 72 tennis courts, futsal fields, and basketball courts. To make large-scale K-pop concerts possible outside the capital area, four World Cup stadiums will be selected to install turf-protection mats and sound systems.
