The Democratic Party of Korea dismissed Kang Min-gu, deputy head of the ethics inspection team, on the 1st.
The party said in a notice to the press that "Kim Min-seok directed the immediate dismissal of ethics inspection team deputy head Kang Min-gu."
The party did not specify the reason for the dismissal.
However, analysis is focusing on the possibility that it is not unrelated to a media camera capturing Deputy Head Kang sending a Telegram message to Supreme Council member Park Seon-won.
On the same day, the Segye Ilbo reported a photo showing Telegram messages between Park and Kang. According to the report, Kang wrote in a message to Park, "It seems Jung Chung-rae's faction is moving to work on Rep. Kim Ki-pyo, the head of the ethics inspection team," adding, "I haven't been contacted by the central party to come to work. I would appreciate it if you could say something to the secretary-general. It seems we need to move quickly and take control."
