The People Power Party said on the 26th that former President Park Geun-hye will attend a lawmakers' workshop to be held on the 27th.
The People Power Party said in a notice that day that "the former president will attend the '2026 People Power Party lawmakers' workshop' to be held in Goyang, Gyeonggi."
The workshop is a gathering ahead of the regular National Assembly session in September where party lawmakers discuss key pending issues and share strategies for responding in the Assembly going forward.
The former president is said to be giving remarks for about 20 minutes to People Power Party lawmakers at the workshop. After presentations by key leaders, she is expected to take the podium and deliver messages on the party's direction and conservative unity.
Earlier, floor leader Jeong Jeom-sig visited the former president's residence in Dalseong County, Daegu, on the 19th to ask her to attend the workshop.
After paying the visit, the floor leader met with reporters and said, "On behalf of our lawmakers, I conveyed an invitation, saying it would be good if the president personally attends the lawmakers' workshop and tells us where our party should head."
The People Power Party workshop will run from the 27th for two days and one night. The workshop slogan is "People Power Party stepping on today to open tomorrow."
