Kim Min-seok of the Democratic Party of Korea said on the 25th that he has completed forming the 10 innovation special bodies, "Mega Ten."
At a press briefing at the National Assembly that afternoon, Kim said, "Of the 10 Mega Ten bodies, the first is the Mega Growth Special Committee. The full name is the Mega Project and Local Growth Support Special Committee," adding, "As party leader, I will concurrently serve as chairperson, and Rep. Lee Kwang-jae will serve as senior vice chairperson." Former Local Era Commission chairperson Kim Kyeong-soo will serve as executive vice chairperson.
He also unveiled the Nomination Innovation Promotion Team, the Party Reform Promotion Team, and the Constitutional Amendment Promotion Team. Rep. Shin Jeong-hun, former chairperson Kim Kyeong-soo, and Rep. Kim Tae-nyeon will each serve as director general. Kim said, "We will compile the problems revealed in the by-elections and prepare a stable nomination plan by the end of this year."
He also formed the Friday-night politics alley; the AI transition financial, stock market, and economic system improvement promotion team; the Culture, do it! Korean Wave politics national youth culture festival promotion team; the U.S.-China-Japan party diplomacy promotion team; the 1030 youth policy promotion team; and the Gwanghwamun second party headquarters promotion committee.
In particular, he said he plans to pursue a visit to the United States in October through the U.S.-China-Japan party diplomacy promotion team. Kim said, "U.S.-China-Japan diplomacy is very important even at the level of party diplomacy, so we will try to arrange a visit to the United States in October if possible," adding, "Ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, we should conduct diplomacy that encompasses both the ruling and opposition parties, together with White House diplomacy."
