In the Seoul-Gyeonggi tour primary of the Aug. 17 party convention to elect the next leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, supreme council candidate Choi Min-hee won 103,683 votes (16.32%), the most among the supreme council candidates.
The Democratic Party central election management committee announced the ballot count after the joint speeches by the party leader and supreme council candidates held that afternoon at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi.
The rights party member vote results announced that day are from the online voting held on the 12th and 13th and the ARS voting held on the 14th and 15th.
Of the 583,638 electors in the Seoul-Gyeonggi region, 317,693 (54.43%) took part. For the supreme council, each elector can cast two votes.
Candidate Lee Seong-yun followed with 101,448 votes (15.97%), and all other candidates except Kim Young-ho and Lim Mi-ae recorded double-digit vote shares.
By candidate: ▲ Han Min-su 97,072 votes (15.28%) ▲ Park Sun-won 95,546 votes (15.04%) ▲ Seo Mi-hwa 92,267 votes (14.52%) ▲ Kim Yong 90,465 votes (14.24%).
Candidate Lim Mi-ae received 37,032 votes for a 5.83% share, and candidate Kim Young-ho received 17,873 votes for a 2.81% share.
Along with the delegate vote, the Democratic Party will add the results of a public opinion poll, which accounts for 30% of the total, and announce the final results at the 3rd regular national party members' convention to be held tomorrow, on the 17th, at the Daejeon Convention Center.
