According to political circles on the 5th, Mayor Oh and Deputy Minister Kim discussed measures to expand the supply of dwellings and tax reform plans at a closed-door lunch meeting that day.
Earlier, President Lee Jae-myung presided over a real estate and stock market review meeting at the Blue House for about 7 hours and 30 minutes on the 3rd after returning from an overseas trip. At the meeting, Lee said, "Secure as much available supply volume as possible so that as many dwellings as possible can be supplied as quickly as possible."
There is also talk that the government may announce new measures for supplying dwellings soon. The Blue House said that day, "We are reviewing various measures to expand the supply of dwellings, but nothing has been finalized so far regarding the details of specific supply measures or the timing of the announcement."
Mayor Oh has voiced concerns about the real estate tax reform plan the government recently released. On the previous day, Oh said on Facebook, "The market has already started looking for a 'less rock-solid single home' priced at 3.2 billion won or less." When he met Minister Kim Yun-duk on the 24th of last month, he conveyed measures to revitalize redevelopment projects, including easing floor area ratio limits and improving regulations on relocation loan financing.
