The Cyber Operations Command will take part in the multinational combined cyber exercise "Cyber Flag," held at the U.S. National Cyber Training Center for five days from the 27th to the 31st.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 27th, Cyber Flag is an exercise hosted by the U.S. Cyber Command and has been held annually since 2011. This year, a total of 25 countries, including Korea, will participate, and the Armed Forces' participation is the fifth since 2022.
In this exercise, the Cyber Command will share cyber threat information with participating countries and conduct joint analysis. Through this, it plans to raise its ability to conduct multinational combined cyber operations and strengthen partnerships among the participating countries.
Bae Song-young, commander of the Cyber Operations Command (army brigadier general), said, "By working with countries that have world-class cyber capabilities, it will be an opportunity to greatly enhance our cyber operations capabilities," and added, "Using this exercise as a springboard, we will continue efforts to strengthen cyber operations capabilities, a core of national security."
The Cyber Command also plans to further develop Korea-U.S. cyber cooperation through Cyber Flag, the allied exercise between the Korea and U.S. cyber commands called "Cyber Alliance," and exchanges of cyber professionals and technology.
