Korea Social Security Information Service (SSiS) said on the 21st that it distributed promotional materials for the "welfare membership" and the "welfare crisis alert application" to the National Senior Citizens' Association Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone.
The welfare membership is a system that provides tailored guidance on welfare services available based on an individual's income, assets, and household characteristics. The welfare crisis alert app is a service that allows a person to report crisis situations—such as illness or livelihood difficulties—affecting themselves or a neighbor via smartphone and links them to needed welfare services.
Korea Social Security Information Service (SSiS) expects that, with this distribution of promotional materials, staff at the support center for the elderly living alone will be able to explain welfare programs more clearly to seniors and their guardians.
Kim Hyeon-jun, president of Korea Social Security Information Service (SSiS), said, "We will strengthen on-site guidance so that no senior misses out on welfare benefits due to a lack of information or digital barriers."
