Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) said on the 20th that former Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Director General for Industrial Policy Lee Seung-ryeol took office as the 23rd president of the institute.
Lee entered public service in April 1997 as an administrative officer at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and served for about 30 years, going on to hold posts including Director for Planning and Finance, Director General for New Trade Order Policy, Director General for Policy Planning, and Director General for Nuclear Power Industry Policy, and serving as Director General for Industrial Policy. He also built international trade experience through a secondment to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) under the UN, and most recently served as an adviser to the Presidential Advisory Council on Science & Technology, a presidential advisory body.
In his inauguration speech, Lee said, "KTR will fulfill its social responsibility based on public interest, be recognized worldwide for its reliability, and, based on innovation, evolve into a global technical services organization for the AI era that leads the preparation of future industries."
