President Lee Jae-myung will preside over a total of nine live-streamed work briefings by government ministries starting on the 15th with the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. It will be about seven months since receiving live work briefings from 19 ministries, five agencies, and seven commissions at the end of last year. According to Cheong Wa Dae, the briefings, under the theme "an irreplaceable Korea felt in everyday life," will cover the Office for Government Policy Coordination; 19 ministries; six agencies; 18 administrations; seven commissions; and 140 public institutions.
The schedule is as follows: ▲ on the 15th, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (National Tax Service‧Korea Customs Service‧Public Procurement Service), the Ministry of Data and Statistics (MODS), the Financial Services Commission, and the Ministry of Planning and Budget; ▲ on the 16th, the Ministry of Science and ICT (Korea AeroSpace Administration), the Korea Media and Communications Commission, the Personal Information Protection Commission, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (National Agency for Administrative City Construction‧Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency), the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Rural Development Administration‧Korea Forest Service), the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Korea Coast Guard), the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency), the Ministery of Food and Drug Safety, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission.
Work briefings for the remaining ministries will be held in early August, with details being coordinated. They were originally set for the 20th and 21st of this month but were postponed in consideration of the "national debate on real estate policy" on the 23rd. President Lee will personally preside over the real estate forum, and after separate forums with MOLIT‧the Financial Services Commission (FSC)‧the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, public opinion will be consolidated at the main forum and reflected in policy.
Earlier, from the 1st to the 6th, Cheong Wa Dae recruited a public participation group through the president's Facebook‧YouTube‧X‧Instagram. A total of 1,259 people applied, and considering age, gender, and interested ministries, about 20 people each time, 200 in total, plan to attend on-site. Cheong Wa Dae said, "In line with the philosophy of popular sovereignty government, the public participation group will join the president in receiving work briefings directly from ministries and will have time to ask questions or make proposals freely from an on-the-ground perspective."
