President Lee Jae-myung on the 5th said, "Congratulations on the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence," adding, "Korea is a precious partner of the United States."
On X (formerly Twitter) that day, the president said, "The United States, which began a great journey toward the ideals of freedom and democracy 250 years ago, has led the peace and prosperity of the international community by overcoming countless challenges." He added, "The Republic of Korea is a precious partner that has upheld these values together."
He continued, "More than 70 years ago, many young Americans did not hesitate to make sacrifices to defend the freedom of the Republic of Korea," adding, "We will forever remember that noble dedication and further strengthen the South Korea-U.S. alliance."
The president also said, "Today, the two countries are developing into future-oriented partners that prosper together, broadening the horizon of cooperation beyond security to the economy, advanced technology, energy, shipbuilding, nuclear power, and future fields including artificial intelligence." He added, "Going forward, together with President Trump, we will achieve a new leap in the South Korea-U.S. alliance based on shared values and strong trust, and contribute together to peace and shared prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and around the world."
