President Lee Jae-myung sent pizza on the 3rd to Ministry of Economy and Finance employees as encouragement for their response to the Middle East war.
According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Koo Yun-cheol's X (formerly Twitter) post that day, Koo wrote, "The president sent pizza to employees of the relevant ministries who are working hard responding to the Middle East war," and posted text and photos.
The pizza sent by the president was delivered to employees in the Economic Analysis Division, Price Policy Division, and Economic Supply Chain Planning Office of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Koo said, "Since the outbreak of the Middle East war, the government has done everything it can to minimize the impact on our economy," adding, "Until uncertainty fully clears, we will stay vigilant and thoroughly manage the macroeconomy, consumer prices, and supply chains."
Koo continued, "We will prepare thoroughly so that after the Middle East war, Korea can move onto a path of a major economic leap," emphasizing, "I am sincerely grateful to the employees of the relevant ministries—Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI), Financial Services Commission (FSC), Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs—who have set up an emergency economic response system and responded as one team."
Koo said, "Our hard-working staff will enjoy the pizza," adding, "With the energy from this pizza, we will work even harder to look after people's livelihoods." He then added, "Mr. President, our staff says they would like chicken next time," and, "Please send chicken next time. Thank you."
