President Lee Jae-myung will receive the second round of work reports from government ministries from the 15th to the 21st. It has been about seven months since live, televised work reports were delivered by 19 ministries, five offices, and seven commissions, starting with the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Dec. last year and ending with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, which had just completed its Busan transfer at the time. In particular, for this round of reports, a "citizen observers group" will be recruited so that about 200 ordinary citizens can attend in person.
On the day, the president posted on Facebook under the title "We are launching the first ministry work report with the government and the people together," saying, "Your participation becomes the foundation for making better policies and building a better Korea. We ask for your interest," and personally announced the citizen observers recruitment L.I.N.C and details.
About 200 people will be recruited, and applications to participate will be accepted online from 9 a.m. today until noon on the 6th.
The president said, "This work report is not a one-way announcement of results but a venue to confirm policy outcomes with the public and discuss the future direction of state affairs," adding, "We will directly examine how policies are being implemented in people's lives and, furthermore, hope to pool wisdom for a better tomorrow."
He also said, "Everything the government does is ultimately for a better life for the people, so the starting point and the destination of policy are both the people," adding, "We will use the people's voices as our yardstick and find answers together. Based on the results and tasks of the past period, we will more firmly set the milestones for the future that Korea will pursue."
