Kim Jong-un, the North Korean chairperson of the State Affairs Commission, sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping to mark the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese Embassy in North Korea also held a banquet to mark the anniversary, and a discussion meeting between the Labor Party and the Communist Party was held, highlighting the closeness of relations between the two countries.
According to the Korean Central News Agency on the 1st, the chairperson said in a congratulatory message to Xi that "it is the unwavering position of our party and government to constantly strengthen and develop the DPRK-China friendship, which has deep historical roots and socialism at its core."
The chairperson said, "We are willing to continue developing the DPRK-China friendship and cooperation, the common wealth (property) of the two peoples, in line with the demands of the times," adding, "The absolute superiority of DPRK-China relations is firmly guaranteed by the party's leadership."
Referring to last month's DPRK-China summit in Pyongyang, the chairperson said it was "a historic occasion that once again confirmed the unwavering will to deepen comradely friendship and trust, and to more forcefully steer socialist construction in both countries and traditional friendly relations."
Congratulating the Communist Party on its founding anniversary, the chairperson also praised the Chinese Communist Party, saying, "The truth that without the Communist Party there would be no new China is what the Chinese people have realized over a long period as they advanced following the party."
Along with the chairperson's congratulatory message, various events were held across North Korea to commemorate the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. On the 30th of last month, the Chinese Embassy in North Korea hosted a commemorative banquet by the Chinese ambassador to North Korea. Labor Party secretaries Jo Yong-won and Kim Sung-nam from the North were invited.
Before the banquet, the embassy also held a discussion meeting to share experiences in party building between the Labor Party and the Communist Party. To mark the Communist Party's founding day, the Labor Party Central Committee sent a flower basket to the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and a flower basket in the name of the North Korean Embassy in China was also delivered.
