In the June mock test for the 2027 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), 4.13% (16,979) of test takers received a grade 1 in English.
The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE) on the 30th released the June mock test scoring results with these details. The June mock test, held on the 4th of this month, had 411,302 test takers. Of these, 328,242 were current students, and 83,060 were graduates or those who passed the qualification exam.
Since the 2018 mock tests, English has been administered as an absolute evaluation in which a score above 90 out of 100 is grade 1. In the June mock test last year, 19.1% of all test takers received grade 1. Because of this, it was assessed as lacking discrimination, but this year the share of grade 1 in English was lower than in Korean and math. This is seen as an effect of the English test being set at a higher difficulty. In Korean, 5.38% (22,018) of test takers received grade 1, and in math, 4.83% (19,629) did.
In this mock test, the highest standard score in Korean is 132. It is lower than last year's CSAT (147), suggesting the test was set at a moderate level. The standard score is an index showing how much a student's raw score differs from the overall average performance; the more difficult the test, the higher the top score. The highest standard score in math is 138, similar to last year's CSAT (139).
The scoring results will be notified to test takers on Aug. 1. The score report will include the area, subject-by-subject standard scores, and percentiles.
