The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said on the 23rd it will push financial support totaling 30 billion won, including a deferment of principal repayment, for distributors that supplied produce to Homeplus Co. and were left with unpaid receivables.
Specifically, the support will target distributors with unpaid receivables related to Homeplus Co. whose policy funds come due this year. The ministry said it will calculate the scale of support by considering the size of the unpaid receivables and scheduled repayments, and will ensure there are no problems securing produce by granting a one-year deferment of principal repayment or allocating additional new funds.
The ministry said 25 companies have policy funds maturing this year, of which 20 have unpaid receivables, with the unpaid amount estimated at 26.9 billion won.
