President Lee Jae-myung will hold a news conference at the Blue House state guesthouse on the 8th to mark his first year in office and present his vision for the second year of his term.
According to the Blue House on the 7th, the slogan of the news conference is "irreplaceable Korea." The key visual is "Light, road and Korea." The Blue House explained the slogan as "a vision and determination to leap from a country that draws the world's attention to a country the world truly needs."
About 160 domestic and foreign reporters will attend the news conference, and two college students who previously worked as student reporters will also be present. Ewha Womans University student Jeongbo-hyeon and Inha University student Seon U-yeong-hyeon are expected to ask questions related to the younger generation.
Before the news conference, the Blue House also released statistics reviewing President Lee's activities over the past year. Over the past year, Lee held 250 events on the grounds and 178 local events in Korea, and completed overseas trips to 14 countries.
In Korea, he traveled 22,929 kilometers, and for summit diplomacy he traveled 150,000 kilometers, equivalent to 3.8 trips around the Earth. There were 12 town hall meetings in total, and he met more than 3,500 residents across 14 cities and provinces. He visited traditional markets 24 times, about once every two weeks.
Kang Yu-jung, the Blue House chief spokesperson, said, "Through domestic events and overseas trips, President Lee quickly normalized Korea, which had come to a halt under martial law, and signaled that Korea has returned to the international community with confidence," and added, "Through more active engagement than any previous president, he reflected voices from the field in policy and took the lead in national unity."
