Chairperson Ju Biung-ghi of the Fair Trade Commission deleted a comment that said, "Is this blind faith that doesn't care even if an insurrection is sparked?", which he had posted on Facebook under a post about party-by-party results in Seoul from the June 3 local elections, noting that the People Power Party's turnout was high in southeastern districts such as the three Gangnam districts in Seoul.
Ju wrote, "It's really bitter to see that the exercise of citizens' rights aligns this closely with the order of money." The author of the post wrote, referring to the higher People Power Party support in relatively high-priced housing areas, "The most perfect Seoul real estate recommendation map in history that I've ever seen." Ju's comment was deleted about 17 hours later.
There is assessment that it is unusual for a minister-level Cabinet member to publicly comment on the local election results on social media. This contrasts with President Lee Jae-myung's remark on the 4th that "the government will humbly uphold the will of the people contained in the local elections."
