According to exit polls by the three terrestrial broadcasters for the June 3 local elections and by-elections, the Democratic Party of Korea was ahead in 11 of the 16 metropolitan offices, and the People Power Party in 1. Four were classified as neck and neck.
KBS, MBC, and SBS jointly conducted exit polls that day and released them at 6 p.m. on the 3rd, the time voting ended.
In Seoul, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Chong Won-o was projected to lead with 51.4%, 5.4 percentage points ahead of People Power Party candidate Oh Se-hoon (46%). In Busan, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Chun Jae-soo had 50.2% and People Power Party candidate Park Heong-joon 48.3%, making it a close race.
In Daegu, People Power Party candidate Choo Kyung-ho had 49.9% and Democratic Party of Korea candidate Kim Boo-kyum 49.1%, showing a razor-thin race, and in Gangwon Province, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Woo Sang-ho had 51.3% and People Power Party candidate Kim Jin-tae 48.7%, also a close race. In North Jeolla, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Lee Won-taek had 48.5% and independent candidate Kim Kwan-young 46.3%, likewise a tight race.
Busan, Daegu, Gangwon, and North Jeolla are tight races. In North Gyeongsang, People Power Party candidate Lee Cheol-woo was shown leading with 69.7% over Democratic Party of Korea candidate Oh Jung-gi (30.3%).
In the remaining regions, the Democratic Party of Korea was favored. In Incheon, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Park Chan-dae won 53.7%, ahead of People Power Party candidate Yoo Jeong-bok (45.5%), and in South Jeolla–Gwangju, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Min Hyung-bae won 78.6%, far ahead of People Power Party candidate Lee Jung-hyun (12.8%).
In Daejeon, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Heo Tae-jung won 55.9%, more than 10 percentage points ahead of People Power Party candidate Lee Jang-woo (42.9%), and in Ulsan, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Kim Sang-uk won 52.8%, leading People Power Party candidate Kim Doo-kyum (43.2%).
In Sejong, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Cho Sang-ho won 64.3%, over People Power Party candidate Choi Min-ho (32.9%), and in Gyeonggi, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Choo Mi-ae won 60.4%, comfortably ahead of People Power Party candidate Yang Hyang-ja (34.1%).
In North Chungcheong, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Shin Yong-han won 56.2%, ahead of People Power Party candidate Kim Young-hwan (43.8%), and in South Chungcheong, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Park Soo-hyun won 52.1%, was found to be ahead of People Power Party candidate Kim Tae-heum (47.9%).
In South Gyeongsang, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Kim Kyeong-soo won 54.3%, ahead of People Power Party candidate Park Wan-su (45.7%), and in Jeju, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Wi Seong-gon won 62.2%, projected to lead far ahead of People Power Party candidate Moon Sung-yu (34.9%).
