Jang Dong-hyeok, the People Power Party's standing election committee chair, on the 3rd, the day of the June 3 nationwide local elections' main vote, urged participation, saying, "Giving up voting gives the arrogant Lee Jae-myung a chance to erase his trials."
At a Central Election Committee meeting at the National Assembly that morning, Jang said, "We must stop Lee Jae-myung's arrogance and lawless rampage. The public must keep him in check and block him," and stated accordingly.
Jang said, "Yesterday, Lee Jae-myung summoned the acting prosecutor general to the Cabinet meeting, sat him down, and demanded an apology and a reversal of the wrongdoing. It was a blatant intimidation to make his own trials disappear," adding, "Now he finds even the complicated procedures like a special counsel bothersome, so he ordered prosecutors to cancel the trials on their own. It is the worst arrogance, saying he will no longer even pretend to mind the public's gaze."
He continued, "Lee Jae-myung told prosecutors not to fall into the trap of infallibility. It is staggering who is saying this to whom," and argued, "Isn't the worst troublemaker who destroyed the judicial order and plunged Korea into a system error Lee Jae-myung himself? Lee Jae-myung himself is Korea's error."
He went on, "Lee Jae-myung brazenly kicked aside the president's duty of election neutrality and campaigned while touring markets nationwide," and said, "At the polling place, he took the marked ballot out and waved it in front of cameras. Every night, under the pretext of encouraging voting, he agitated people to vote for the Democratic Party of Korea."
He said, "I went and cast my main vote early this morning, and the stamp came out nice and round. It would be hard to stamp only half," and criticized it as "each and every one is a serious illegal act that constitutes grounds for impeachment."
He added, "The result of Lee Jae-myung abandoning state affairs just to save himself is economic collapse and the breakdown of people's livelihoods," and said, "With market interest rates continuing to rise, a rate hike by the Bank of Korea is also becoming a reality. Even so, Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party have no countermeasures, because nothing is working properly except stock prices."
He then said, "What lies ahead is even more worrisome," adding, "Since they flooded the period with money during the campaign, the exchange rate will rise further and prices will soar. If the base rate goes up, lending rates will spike. It is the 3 highs (high inflation, high exchange rate, high interest rates) hell. To protect my assets and my family, I ask the public to make the right choice."
Jang stressed, "If, as Lee Jae-myung says, you give up voting, you will be ruled by the worst degenerates," and added, "Giving up voting is like giving up my home, my assets, my paycheck, and my freedom. Please go to the polling place right now. Show the great power of the sovereign people. I trust the people's wise judgment."
