Chong Won-o, the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate for Seoul mayor, appealed for votes on the 3rd, the main voting day of the June 3 local elections, saying, "Verified candidate Chong Won-o will lead clear change in Seoul."
Chong said on the day via his Facebook page, "Today is 'the day when Seoul's future is decided.'"
Chong said, "To make Seoul safer, we need a mayor who keeps promises," adding, "Please be sure to vote for hardworking Chong Won-o."
On the previous day, the last day of the official local election campaign, Chong also held a joint press conference at the National Assembly with the 25 candidates for Seoul district mayor, saying, "In this razor-thin race, we will surely win by doing our best to the end with the same truthful and earnest resolve we had at the start."
He added, "Thank you for turning out in large numbers for early voting. But it is not over yet." He continued, "If you don't vote (on the main voting day), we can't win. We win only if we vote to the end," and said, "Please go to the polls with your family, friends, and neighbors."
