As of 10 a.m. on the 3rd, the nationwide turnout stood at 11.0% on election day for the 9th nationwide local elections and National Assembly by-elections.
According to the National Election Commission, by 10 a.m. a total of 4,908,403 out of 44,649,908 eligible voters had cast their ballots. This is 2.3 percentage points higher than the turnout at the same hour (8.7%) in the 8th local elections four years ago.
So far, Daegu has the highest turnout at 13.7%, followed by Gangwon (13.3%), North Gyeongsang (13.1%), and South Gyeongsang (12.5%). Gwangju recorded the lowest at 7.3%. Seoul's turnout was 10.2%, and Busan's was 11.0%.
Voting runs until 6 p.m. Voters can cast ballots at the polling place for their registered address.
Voters must bring a photo ID such as a resident registration card, passport, or driver's license. For mobile IDs, open the application so the photo, name, and date of birth can be verified and present it.
