Yu Eui-dong, the People Power Party candidate for Pyeongtaek-eul, appeared on SBS Radio "Kim Tae-hyun's Politics Show" on the morning of the 1st and said, "I will try until the last moment to consolidate with independent candidate Hwang Kyo-ahn," adding, "We must follow the orders of conservative voters in Pyeongtaek."
As for why he chose to vote on election day instead of early voting, Yu said, "During the campaign period, I have to save every minute and second and vote on June 3 after the campaign is all over." When asked if this was with consolidation in mind, he drew a line, saying, "It is unrelated to the essence of the election."
Yu said, "If Kim Yong-nam of the Democratic Party of Korea or Cho Kuk of the Rebuilding Korea Party is elected, attempts such as the ruling party's unilateral constitutional amendment or a special counsel bill to dismiss indictments will become more blatant and stronger," adding, "If we join forces, we can stop it, and please weigh that righteous cause together."
Regarding the visit to a Pyeongtaek early voting station by Professor Mosu Tan, who argues election fraud, he said, "I have already made my position clear on election fraud," and added, "It is difficult to win broad public support, but the National Election Commission's lack of capability or will can certainly be criticized."
Regarding candidate Cho, who criticized consolidation with candidate Hwang, he said, "Kim Ou-joon claimed election fraud after the 18th presidential election," adding, "Are all of Moonjo-teol-lae-yu (Moon Jae-in–Cho Kuk–Kim Ou-joon–Jung Chung-rae–Ryu Si-min), Kim Ou-joon's political comrades, becoming election-fraud theorists?"
On Reform Party leader Lee Jun-seok's endorsement, he said, "It helped much more in that the leader of another party also offered support."
