Jang Dong-hyeok of the People Power Party said, "Show, through resolute action, your anger to stop the arrogance and runaway of the Lee Jae-myung administration and your determination to protect my property and freedom," urging people to vote.
At a press briefing at the central party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 31st, Jang said, "A day may come when you beat your chest and regret not voting."
He went on, "Giving up voting is giving Lee Jae-myung, who abuses presidential power, a chance to wipe out all of his own crimes," adding, "(The president) has mobilized every attack, including calling opponents malignant rulers and old vested interests. As the race turns against them, they are trying to divide the people."
Jang also said, "(The president) has seized the legislature, the government, the judiciary and the press, so it's the extreme arrogance of 'what are you going to do about me,'" adding, "If the arrogant Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party win the local elections and take over local governments, they will push first to cancel Lee Jae-myung's trials."
He added, "They will strip away the people's freedoms one by one and turn the Republic of Korea into a massive rationing system," and said, "Turnout in the main vote must also rise so that public anger judging the arrogance of Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party is reflected at the ballot box. We will work to bring voters in their 20s and 30s to the polls."
