On the 30th at the National Assembly press room, chief spokesperson Kang Jun-hyun of the Democratic Party of Korea held a news conference and directly criticized independent candidates Han Dong-hoon and Kim Kwan-young, who are running in the elections.
Chief spokesperson Kang said, "During the by-election process for Busan Buk-gu Gap, illegal conduct by independent candidate Han Dong-hoon's camp that disrupts election order is getting increasingly serious," and added, "Members of Han Dong-hoon's fan club are collectively attaching Han Dong-hoon's number to white clothing, and are carrying pickets larger than the permitted size."
He went on, "We are receiving a flood of reports that there are easily hundreds of supporters brazenly committing acts permitted only for campaign workers," and said, "After causing problems by disguising a shelter as an unauthorized campaign office, they are now openly engaging in behavior rife with potential violations of election law."
Chief spokesperson Kang said, "Has Han Dong-hoon fallen yet again into his trademark delusion, as if he were some overwhelming favorite?" and added, "It is swagger and illegality that harass Buk-gu residents through the overzealous behavior of his own supporters."
He praised candidate Ha Jung-woo, who is running as the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate in the Busan Buk-gap by-election. Chief spokesperson Kang said, "Ha Jung-woo is a talent recognized by the hard-working Lee Jae-myung administration, specialized for the new AI era," and added, "Even with President Lee Jae-myung, if Busan lacks Mayor Chun Jae-soo and Buk-gu lacks Representative Ha Jung-woo, Busan's future will inevitably be bleak."
He also continued his criticism of independent candidate Kim Kwan-young, who is running for North Jeolla governor. Chief spokesperson Kang said, "Lies do not disappear just because you try to cover them up. They only return as bigger suspicions and controversies," and added, "Kim Kwan-young is evading responsibility by putting blame on the Democratic Party and pushing a political oppression frame instead of providing a responsible explanation."
