As of 3 p.m. on the 30th, the early voting rate for the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections and the National Assembly by-elections was tallied at 19.77%.
According to the National Election Commission, as of 3 p.m., 8,829,461 out of a total of 44,649,908 eligible voters had cast their ballots.
This is 2.39 percentage points higher than the early voting rate (17.38%) at the same time during the 2022 8th local elections.
By region, South Jeolla recorded the highest turnout at 34.34%. North Jeolla (30.49%) also surpassed 30%, followed by Gangwon (23.44%), Gwangju (23.44%), and Sejong (22.68%).
Daegu, meanwhile, was the lowest in the country at 15.61%. Gyeonggi (17.39%), Busan (17.91%), and Incheon (18.01%) were also below the average. Seoul was near the national average at 19.62%.
In the Chungcheong region, North Chungcheong topped 20% at 20.15%, while South Chungcheong was 19.20%. South Gyeongsang was tallied at 20.85%, North Gyeongsang at 19.35%, and Jeju at 19.67%.
Early voting runs until 6 p.m. at 3,571 polling stations nationwide on this day.
