Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor, voiced criticism over President Lee Jae-myung's ballot paper controversy.
On the 30th, visiting the Gayang Complex 6 in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, candidate Oh finished his schedule and took questions from reporters. When asked there about President Lee exposing his ballot on the 29th, he said it was "an irrational act that is hard to understand," and added, "It naturally revealed a trans-legal subconscious that believes one is above the law and above the people."
He also responded to a question that early voting turnout hit a record high, saying, "Ordinary people suffering from the triple strength of sale prices, jeonsei and monthly rent are angry at a government that failed in dwellings policy yet has not offered a single apology."
Regarding the continued attacks from Chong Won-o's camp over safety issues, candidate Oh said, "Safety is an important issue, but in a city on the scale of a European country like Seoul, the values a Seoul mayor must uphold are diverse, including housing, transportation and the city's appeal," adding, "Candidate Chong, who only chants safety, is insufficient to be responsible for Seoul, the heart of the Republic of Korea."
He also expressed regret that there was only one Seoul mayoral candidates' debate. He said, "Next time, at least, the debate should be held two to three days before early voting," adding, "Chong Won-o, who infringed on voters' right to know, should reflect."
