Democratic Party of Korea Seoul mayoral candidate Chong Won-o will cast an early voting ballot on the morning of the 29th at the Sogong-dong Administrative Complex Center in Jung District, Seoul.
According to political circles on the 28th, Chong plans to vote early on the morning of the 29th, the first day of early voting, at a polling place set up at the Sogong-dong Administrative Complex Center in Jung District, Seoul. Chong is said to be heading to the polls with a spouse. At a media roundtable that morning, Chong only said the campaign was still considering where to cast an early voting ballot.
The Seoul mayoral race is being fought in a dead heat. As supporters of the Democratic Party of Korea and the People Power Party rally in the final stretch, the outcome is likely to be decided by a small margin.
Chong's decision to vote early in Sogong-dong, Jung District—rather than in Seongdong District, where the candidate's home is and where Chong served three terms as district chief—is seen as a show of intent to be a mayor for all of Seoul. The Sogong-dong Administrative Complex Center is close to Seoul City Hall and also near Chong's campaign office.
Rival candidate Oh also plans to take part in early voting on the same day.
