In the Seoul mayoral race, considered one of the fiercest battlegrounds in the June 3 local elections, Democratic Party of Korea candidate Chong Won-o and People Power Party candidate Oh Se-hoon are locked in a neck-and-neck contest within the margin of error, a poll showed on the 22nd.
In a suitability poll for Seoul mayoral candidates conducted by Researchwell on behalf of New Daily on the 20th–21st using ARS with 100% wireless sampling, Chong polled at 42.0% and Oh at 44.8%. The gap between the two candidates is 2.8 percentage points.
Next, Reform Party candidate Kim Seong-cheol stood at 2.1%, and "other candidates" at 2.6%. "No preferred candidate" was 6.1%, and "don't know" was 2.4%, so the undecided/withheld group was found to be 8.5%.
This poll surveyed 977 men and women aged 18 and older living in Seoul, using wireless virtual numbers provided by the three mobile carriers. It was conducted via an automated response system with a structured questionnaire. The response rate was 5.9%, and the margin of sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.
