Deputy presidential spokesperson An Gwi-ryeong said in a written briefing that the spouse of President Lee Jae-myung, Kim Hea-kyung, attended the Sookmyung Women's University founding anniversary event on the 21st.
On this day, Kim attended the eve event celebrating the 120th anniversary of the founding, held at a hotel in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
In her congratulatory remarks, Kim said, "Learning opens new possibilities for someone and becomes the courage and hope to live in the world for someone else," and "Education changes a person's life and, further, is the greatest force that changes society."
Kim also received the "Proud Sookmyung Alumna Award," given to alumnae, on this day.
Sookmyung Women's University President Moon Si-yeon said, "We present this award with gratitude and respect for joining the meaningful journey for Sookmyung's development and future with deep affection for the alma mater and unwavering support."
