Han Dong-hoon, an independent candidate for Busan Buk-gu Gap, said on the 21st about Park Min-sik of the People Power Party, "Even if Ha Jung-woo wins, the stance seems clear that Han Dong-hoon must be blocked." Park had labeled Han a "traitor."
After wrapping up a campaign launch event at Ssamsi Park near Gupo Market in Buk-gu, Busan, that day, Han told reporters, "I am not trying to use Buk-gu as a springboard. I will be the springboard for Buk-gu."
Earlier, Park said of Han, "He used Buk-gu as a disposable kindling for his own political ambition and then cast it aside, and for his political ambition he defines everyone else in the conservative camp as enemies." Park also shaved his head, saying, "I will not merge with the traitor Han Dong-hoon."
Han said, "I vowed to lay my bones in Buk-gu and make up for the 20 lost years in Buk-gu."
In his speech at the launch event that day, Han also said, "I will not sidestep the talk that 'Han Dong-hoon is Yoon Suk-yeol's traitor,'" adding, "I chose the Republic of Korea and the people, not Yoon Suk-yeol."
He added, "I protected the people of the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea, and even if the same situation arose a hundred or a thousand times, I would do the same without a second thought."
Han also said, "With the same thinking as 'Yoon again,' do you think our conservatives can take back power?" adding, "We will hand over the next administration as well."
He continued, "If we don't win, Jang Dong-hyeok's party leadership faction, a regressive force whose social and political reckoning is over, will ruin conservatives even more," adding, "Then rebuilding the conservative camp becomes truly difficult, and we will lose the next general election and miss the presidential election."
